The Frick has been selling this project to the public as a small renovation but the facts of construction prove otherwise. This is a 4-year project, end to end with near constant work being done to the extent of what the city allows for work hours. This is not a small project as they would like the public to believe..
Construction hours – 7am – 6pm daily
Construction of the proposed project would be carried out in accordance with New York City laws and regulations, which allow construction activities between 7 AM and 6 PM on weekdays. Construction work would typically begin at 7 AM on weekdays, with most workers arriving between 6 AM and 7 AM. Normally work would end at 3:30 PM, but it can be expected that in order to complete certain critical tasks (e.g., finishing a concrete pour for a floor deck), the workday may occasionally be extended beyond normal work hours. Any extended workdays would generally last until approximately 6 PM and would not include all construction workers on- site, but only those involved in the specific task requiring additional work time.
While not expected to be frequent, weekend or night work may also be occasionally required for certain construction activities.
Average number of workers, 94 per day and up to 132 per day
The average number of workers throughout the construction period would be 94 per day. The peak number- of workers would be 132 per day in the third quarter of 2021. For truck trips, the average number of trucks would be 15 per day, and the peak would occur in the first quarter of 2021, with 24 trucks per day.
